Try plugging in devices into the usb ports. Also try closing the lid and opening it again.

It may have locked...what did you have running when it went to sleep? e.g. I won't let mine go to sleep anymore with Riva Tuner in the background :) If it's locked up you'll have to do a hard reset. Vista thing. Had the problem sometimes on my Acer.

Like they said, hit the start button to wake it up.

    Nvidia 8600gt 256 MB gddr3

Maybe you can reinstall the ATK utility and driver to get rid of the volume icon problems.

Screen not coming back on after standby is usually caused by video drivers. Try reverting to stock, if you use modded, and upgrading, if you use stock. :)

If the computer locks, it could be many, many things.

Alright ill try reinstalling the drivers.
But i just got my C90 and all the drivers are stock from the cd.

When it "locks" what do you mean by that?

Apollo the stand by issus make sure that the os hasnt woke up and its just the screeb that wont turn on (i have the same issue and so does a couple of people with s96s and g1s) if you have yor fingerprint reader setup try usng it if you hear the "ok" sound then its the screen taht wont turn on. Supposedly its a driver thing but i havent been able to get rid of it withj anything so far... In the end i just disable sleep entirely.

That';s what I meant, if the computer is still on and the screen is off only, then you have driver issues. Instead of reinstalling stock drivers, try modded ones for example.

If the computer is also locked (i.e., frozen) then smth else is probably at work.

laptopvideo2go.com , go on their forums. The driver is the same, but comes in an extracting package, you extract it and you copy the .inf files available for download in the same page.

It's the exact same driver that you download from nvidia.com . You can even download it there, you just need the modified .inf so the installer detects the mobile card

make a clean reinstall.. thats all you need.. i believe its gonna solve all your problems and your NB will be much faster.. i was going to go with xp but there was no need for that.. i had exactly the same problem but after clean install everything works just fine.. without bloatware you gonna be surprised how much fast your system actually is..

go to laptopvideo2go.com download the driver and the modded .inf.. extract the driver, copy/paste modded .inf into driver folder.. thats it
