When I have a problem with my computer, how long will it take for me to get a replacement?

Will it be shipped from from Taiwan or Toronto or California?

Will it be an identical model (K52Jr-A1, which I can't find online anymore), or something 'similar'. Will specs be the same, better, or worse?
FOR EXAMPLE ... I have an ATI Radeon 5470 video card, will they send something with Intel Graphics, or something with another ATI or nVidia graphics?

What SHOULD the turn around time be? - how long will I be with out a laptop?

Will they do 'advanced replacement' or want to spent weeks testing the unit?
I can't go long without a laptop, as it's my primary computer, and I can't afford to buy a new one.

Anyone with advice, and/or suggestions to help make the repair easier and quicker, I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks, Allan

So no one here has used the RMA line for the ADW repair?

Apparently, this forum is filled with a bunch of people who know nothing.
Sorry I asked a seemingly simple question that no one found interesting enough to answer.

That thread is pretty useless - no clear cut answers.

Maybe I'll just sell this one off, and buy another one for College.

Grouchy, but I'll answer for you.

For the Warranty work under ADW or routine warranty:

    1. California is headquarters of Asus North America. In Canada, you're probably going to be sending to Asus Toronto in Markham instead. Asus will attempt repairs before they simply replace the unit - turnaround depends on parts availability.

    2. In the event of Replacement, this would be with a current model of similar specs and similar position in the product lineup. May/not be "better" depending on current model availability, but generally match the integrated or discrete gpu question.

    3. Depends on parts availability. If nothing needs to be ordered, probably within 1-2 weeks of receipt. If not, could be several weeks minimum.

    4. No. You have to send in for assessment and repair/replace decision.

    You're welcome :).
