No, the rebate is based on point of sale and resident status. See terms "valid only in Canada." If you buy it from US and have it shipped, you just bought a US model, not Canadian (even though everything is orignially imported through Asus North America in Fremont :)).

Plus, I'm going to guess that the specific sub-models (i.e. K40 IJ-D2 listed on the rebate may only be available in the Canadian market - Asus NA tends to sometimes do that - so further restricts to Canadian residents. Finally, for the rebate to be valid you have to completely match the listed submodel.

ok.. but the model i want N81vp-d2 is availiable in both markets(US and Canada) and if wut you are saying is the case, i cant benifit from neither US or Canada mail in rebate if I buy it from US via internet? that sucks.. the rebate does not say only apply to purchases from a canadian store only though... :(

correct. you can not claim us rebate from canada. it would be nice to combine a rebate with a favorable exchange rate. not that ca to us exchange is favorable.

I just called the customer service number listed on the form. the lady has verified and confirmed that it could be used! it doesn't matter where I got the PC from, as long it's the specified model and mailed to the canadian rebate centre from a canadian residential address! :)

Nice that you can use it after all.

Now just don't count on getting it anytime soon. When I bought my G2S back in January of 2008...I didn't actually get the rebate until about a year later. I had totally forgotten about it...so it was a surprise to actually get it. lol
