I'm thinking about purchasing a ux31a/21a but unsure after reading some of the early X1 Carbon reviews. Durability is critical for me. Thinkpads have a reputation for their durability and the X1 Carbon doesn't appear to be an exception, but only time will tell.
How has your Zenbook held up (interested in both "e" and "a" versions). Details about the screen (light bleed/lid hinges, etc), keyboard, trackpad, casing (blemishes, etc), would be appreciated. Please state which model you own, for how long and your typical daily/weekly usage.
*edit*
For those with light bleed issues, has it gotten worse or better over time?

I have an UX31A, purchased from Amazon at the end of July. I had minimal light-bleed, and it has not gotten worse. I deleted all partitions and am dual-booting Windows and Ubuntu and have had no problems (apart from the quirks inherent to an Ubuntu install, of course). I take my Zenbook inside the accompanying sleeve that is packaged with it and that, in turn, is kept in a messenger bag. I commute into and out of Manhattan daily, and use it everywhere. No loosening of the monitor hinge, and I've had no other problems.

Bump.
Only six votes, but a stark contrast to the impression that a prospective buyer is left with after wandering through the following thread. http://forum.notebookreview.com/asu...-fhd-ips-screen-ux21a-ux31a-ux32a-ux32vd.html
