    Hello everyone

I'm just curious about it because I'm worried about mine. I find that the GPU of mine is running at around 80c under load, and at around 50c idle, which is a bit hot.
I *pray* that something isn't wrong with my lappie, because I just got it back from tech support a month ago (long story, don't ask). I think it could be my setup, but I'm not sure about that, because I'm using it on a bare desk (no cloth or coverings).

What temperatures do you guys get? And on what surface? Should I try using my lappie on a cooling rack and see if it makes a difference?

    1. Check for dust buildup and clean it up.
    2. Try undervolting (doesn't help much except under full load on the CPU).
    3. Cooling pad doesn't help more than a few degrees usually.

Ironically, the most obvious thing was the one thing I haven't tried. Thank you very much E.B.E., that did the job.
Now the GPU runs at around 67c under heavy load, and idles at 45c. :)

The alternative is to actually open it up and clean the fan blades and the vent grates.

Yes I as well may need a good cleaning of the vents and fan. Everest gave me a horrible surprise when I installed it recently - under load (when gaming) it said GPU ~80c, CPU ~80c, motherboard ~70c

    Yikes!

My desktop Core2Duo (E2160) does idle ~25c, load ~30c :), OC from original 1.8GHz to 2.7GHz ~50c load! With stock cooler and bad airflow in the case, no less ;)

BTW: If any of you guys are looking for a desktop to compliment your laptop, look into the E2140, E2160 CPU, they're cheap and overclocks like crazy while doing it cool! Over 3.5GHz not uncommon with a decent air cooler :D
