Just curious, I was wondering what temps you guys/girls are getting on your Zenbook Primes when you are idling/under load.

Are you referring to a certain zenbook prime model or it doesn't matter as the i7 runs a little bit hotter than the i5

I sent mine back because I think it was either overheating or the fan was acting up.

Temperature was constantly at 50C even on power saving mode with less than 10% load. That wouldn't be too bad except the fan was running constantly at full speed (~5900 rpm according to speedfan) right from boot.

when I fired up prime95 , it reached about 90C, which I guess is to be expected (?). The fan didn't speed up in the process.

This was the i7 model. I'm guetting the i5 soon instead. Hope it fairs better, The constant fan noise was really getting on my nerves.

Alright! Seems like I'm not the only one. However, it might be normal for Ivy Bridge because it runs hotter than Sandy Bridge and there isn't much space for heat to escape the body.

    More replies would be wonderful!

Dont know the temperatures, but in my case the fan isn't even going at all while browsing the web/ listning to music, idle etc on "high performance" on my ux32vd and the outer shell is cold, but while playing diablo 3 fans run all the time and gets quite hot at the bottom of the screen.

Well guys, i have several questions for those who own ux32vd.......

1.How good is the build quality and the trackpad?

2.clock frequency(base) of i7-3517?(1.7GHz or 1.9 GHz? Intel says there are two versions)

3.BF3 performance?(no filter, at 720p,900p with high and med settings)

4.Heat?(Say after 2/3hr of continuous playing of BF3/Skyrim/Crysis2?)

    5.Throttling(if any)?(in the prev case)
