Hi. I'm looking to purchase a 17" desktop replacement, and I was wondering about the quality of G2S LCD screens compared to other 17" WUXGA LCD screens such as Sager NP5793's.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

If you want performance don't get the ASUS. Get the 5793.
The screens should be the same by the way.

those are very different price ranges there. g2s is now after rebate @ 1800$. the sager is a good 1000$ more with the same specs and warranty. only difference is the video card which is obviously more powerfull on the sager

actually the sager came down in price alot. even offers penryn cpu's. same specs and just a bit more expensive. @2400$ you can get that sager with the same specs and warranty but with a penryn t9300 and a better video card. so its about 600$ more which i think is justified for the better cpu and card

Are the screens really the same? Doesn't G2S have dual lamps?
