do you mean you're "looking for a video" of how Asus tests their laptops? If so, you'll be looking for a long time because I haven't known anyone able to take pictures inside any of Asus' facilities, let alone video. Needless to say, every system goes through stress testing - now for how long and to what degree, I can't speak for Asus, but I'm sure you call their US office and they can give you an idea.

I've seen a video of how Acer tests their notebook at a presentaion i went to. It was pretty cool and rather extensive. All automated robots flexing and button pretssing, lid opening/closing..... rather impressive....

based on the build quality of Acers compaired to Asus, I'd imaging Asus testing to be far far more rigorous!!!

just a guess... take a sample selection, and put it through stress tests, ie: 10000 equivalent hours of typing (acheived by repetative, high speed, typing by a machine) 10000 times opening the lid and closing to test hinges. etc... i would suppose on small samples, just drop it to see damage?

while we're on this topic.. does anybody know if the notebook shown at the beginning of the second video(legend) is the V6 notebook? It looks really really nice.

exactlly what i saw acer do. Very very similar to how Sony Ericsson test their phones. Every button is pushed more times than it would do in a notebooks life. And same goes for hindges. Fairly straight forward...

or they could get a army of underpaid workers to flex the KB and type :p

Yes that is a V6. If you think that looks nice, you should see/use one in person. They are amazing. No question about it.

Im totally amazed how well it stood up to being run over multiple times by a multiple ton tractor. Only a slightly messed up screen, and the keybaord being pressed in. I wonder if it still would have turned on. Id have an even greater respect for Asus lol.

Bet it would have held up even better in those conditions, considering a car would wiegh only a fraction of what the huge tractor did. Pressure-wise, even being on soil wouldnt save the notebook from that much wieght.

Yeah, not too realistic though. I would rather watch a video of a 4 year old bashing and slamming the laptop around for a few days as that seems very likely if you just leave it in the house with a small child.

Well, I suspect those guys had an "accidental" damage warranty from some poor reseller. Or maybe they just jacked someone's UPS shipment.

Anyone notice what model that laptop was though?

My friend drive over the corner of his A6u (well Z92U) which was in a Targus case... not even a strong case with his Nissan Sylvia. And its going fine, no cracks :) ,

guess he was lucky. bag was was on grass.

Some crazy stuff driving it over with a Tractor... what did the guy expect...

they could have at least had a whole line of other brands too :)
