I'm not sure if it's the same as the Case that comes with the Asus W3v if it is there is a user review you can check out and he has a pic of the case there.
Again, it's the case for the W3v im not sure if it will fit the Z70's or not but you can get an idea on the quality.

I thought the bag that came with the W3V was ugly at first.... but its kinda growing on me. I'm still not going to use it though, bought a Sumdex 14.1" notebook sleeve so that i can stick the W3V in the backpack.

Decent but not incredible. Mine is two tone, blue and black (not sure if everyone gets the same one). It's not too bad and is fairly lightweight. It's good for the laptop, a lock, the AC adapter, and there's a separate compartment for files and folders. Again, it's decent but not amazing. It'll do it's job. I personally don't care too much about the case as long as it's decently durable and waterproof and stuff...

ha! I like the signature ricky!
-
heh... i'm done wasting bandwith w/ useless posts now....
-
A little off topic...how do you like your sumdex sleeve? I haven't see a review on it for the w3v. how is the fit? the material? etc. I have seen the sleeve online and it looks to be inexpensive.

I don't have a Z70v, but the bag that came with my Z71v was a black vinyl attache type bag, and it comfortably fits several books and (paper) notebooks along with the computer. I'm quite happy with it.

i've only had it for a few hours, but I think it will do what i want it to.... which is protect my laptop if it is ever run over by a car. j/k :asus: I got it for $23 from Academic... something. Their shipping was fast and free, i ordered it on Tuesday night and recieved it Thursday... but we are both located in CA. Quality wise, I dont have much experience with other products to compare it to. It has a life time warrenty i believe so that must say something. It is pretty stiff in my opinion, you wont be able to mash it very well. It fits the W3V extremeley well, but you wont have room to fit anything else... which is the point of a sleeve. I have a Northface Recon backpack that i use and it is able to fit into the notebook sleeve built into the backpack... but it is pretty tight. I find the handles to be annoying because it gets in the way when i try and stuff it in my backpack sleeve, otherwise I think it will be useful later on. I would recommend this sleeve to anyone. I think if your already a very careful person then with this added protection, your W3V should be in good hands.
I know... what a ****ty review.

The carrying case is pretty descent. I thought since it was a freebie, it would be crap. But instead, I'm using it instead of my Targus.

The carrying case for the W3V is pretty good. Has two main compartments, I use one for notebook, other can fit some paper or a book probably up to 2 inches thick. On the side of one of the main compartments, there are 4 wired mesh pockets, and a zipper'ed compartment seperating the two main ones. I wish there were more compartments specifcally for the mouse and power brick, but all in all, the design works pretty well. the one thing I hate is that the metal clips need both hands to both clip and unclip.

Thanks Kimochi, I think I'm gonna buy one now. I was looking for something cheap and simple and durable...that sounds like the best buy.
BTW, your name Kimochi keeps remind me of this rapper...Chief Kamachi. -
Oh yea, Kimochi, can you link me to the website you got yours from. 23 bucks w/ free shipping is a lot cheaper than ebags.

Academic Superstore
there you go, my name Kimochi means "feels good"... its what japanese porn stars say when they uhh.... do their job -
the one that I got with z80k/a2k is really nice. Has metal rings instead of the usuall plastic ones and if I hadn't already bought a Kingston backpack I would be using it all the time. For a freedy it's unbeliavable and in general it is really nice too.

I got a black freebie carry case with my Z71V. It's OK. On the shoulder strap it has a shoulder pad. I carry around my Z71V daily and my shoulder pad started to rip and tear. I should also mention that my commute to school is 3 hours round trip on the local subway system, so I used the carry bag a lot. I took off the shoulder pad and found that the shoulder strap hurts my shoulder, especially when I'm carrying a full load (i.e. textbooks, etc.).
Futureshop (bleh...I know) had a sale on their notebook bags. So I bought a Targus Slam Backpack --> http://www.targus.com/ca/product_details.asp?sku=RGS012C
I like the Targus backpack. I can carry more books and even lunch
and a cd player. I feel no pain with my backpack when it's almost fully loaded. It's comfortable. Oh yeah and with the backpack I got a free 256 Kingston USB key, all for $60 cdn.
The supplied carry bag for the Z71V would be good for maybe light use. But if you travel with medium to heavy loads like a student like me, you might want a more durable bag. -
Hai-desu~~~~
Ugh, stupid pita-ten making an everlasting imprint in my head with its overusage of -desu
Recently, I bought a Crumpler bag and its awesome.
I'll try to have it reviewed in a few weeks after some testing ^^
