I had the PSOD in mid July. I mailed it out on July 15th and ASUS got it July 22nd (I have no idea why Fedex took THAT long to deliver). They haven't even started working on it yet.
Waiting for material/spare parts, it says.
Anyone have a similar issue and can tell me about how long RMA takes. It was shipped to the Indiana location.

Where do you send it?I sent mine out 8/2 and they got it today 8/4.I live on the east coast and had to send it to ASUS Indy (G73JH for keyboard backlighting)
-
Philadelphia. It it normal for 2 weeks to pass since they got it and they still haven't started?
-
Boy I hope not,They got mine on 8/4 and when I check the repair status it says they haven't got it yet.I'm lost without my G73(I have a G50vt but my son is using it.)
-
I sent mine in days before they got it which was July 8th. I just got it back on August the 3rd.
They kept telling me when I called that they allow 14 WORK/BUSINESS days for the notebook repair. So they don't count holiday/weekends.
I sent mine in for overheating issues and one of my keys on my keyboard popped out. I got my notebook back with a whole new keyboard but instead of the G73 version it's some black version. Doesn't match but not a big deal until I realize that the backlighting doesn't work. I flip over the notebook to put my hard drive back in and I notice these deep scratches around where the top right rubber foot is and an empty socket where said rubber foot would be.
GPU temps thus far seem stable but idling around 60 has me worried a bit. Thought it would go lower.
Overall I don't think I'll send mine back to the Indy facility. Oh and I live only two hours away from it as well yet it took that long. -
Looks like they shipped it out Wednesday afternoon, on the 13th working day and it's expected to come on Friday. I just hope they actually addressed the issue (PSOD) and don't give me any weird crap that wasn't on my original laptop. I really don't want to find out my blu-ray was swapped for a regular DVD drive or that my screen resolution was reduced
With the stuff I'm hearing, I wouldn't be surprised if something like that happened. -
15 days seems to be the average at least here in Canada I've been told. I shipped mine for GSOD VGA replacement on July 11th and received it back in my hands August 5th with a new Mobile 5870 and it went back out again for the exact same reason on August 6th (crashed on first boot 6 seconds into Furmark). So I figure another 15 days minimum at Asus Canada and I'm putting money on the fact that my issue still won't be resolved.

Although It may seam inconvenient, I would Personally Strongly Recommend that if you have to mail it away just anyway to send it Directly to their California USA Head Quarters.
Why you ask 3 reasons
1. If its a motherboard or Video Card Hardware Issue They have the Highest Likelihood of having your part in stock not just for order
2. If you do need a part that is out of stock you get the very first shipment even Before the Service Centers They must still Wait until the you get yours.
3. Time wise if they cant fix it they tend to want to ether send it away anyway or order a brand new motherboard but remember you would be Behind in the ones already their.
How do I know all this Because I have Personally done both kinds of RMA one was at a Official Asus Listed Service Center that I got Right from Asus when asking for a Local Service Center in my home State.
But it took just under a month and in the End the Primary Issue that I sent it in for did NOT get fixed.
As it was returned to me in the exact same condition that I sent it in Plus they can Charge you Extra Fees and Asus has Zero Control over this.
VS The Actual Real owned and Operated Asus Less than 2 weeks
So Clearly the Low time winner Which is what you want I think -
I've had my laptop in since July 15th, and it's still in.
Waiting for material/spare parts, mine says. -
Mine said waiting for material/spare parts over the entire time and then suddenly yesterday was shipped. Really strange. Also, they received mine after yours. Was yours a PSOD?

My RMAd laptop came today
took them 29 day Q_Q ( live in Poland ) atm it looks like all is working fine. My G73jh runs the latest ATI drivers and Im really happy.

Ive been keeping tabs on my laptop, and so far it sounds like a techs looked at it, they got it from fedex either friday or monday which ever, said a tech would look at it by wednesday, so todays thursday and the tech has starting working on it. I sent it to asus canada btw and I have BSOD(Black screen freezing), aswell as my power supply makes sizzling noises. Hopefully they replace the vid card and they power brick. Ill be peeved if they dont.
