So i'm very familier with the V6 series of notebooks and their battery problems, like having horrible wear, charging when they shouldn't be and eventually totally taking a crap completely.

I picked up a V6Va off coriolis, very happy with it and the laptop has been great, upgraded some parts of it to max out the configuration, anyhow.....

Yesterday I was building a desktop and had the laptop playing itunes. It blue screened with a "kernal stack error" or something along those lines, no big deal, it was plugged into ac power at the time. I then needed to move the laptop and unplugged it from ac power, put it on my bed and then turned it off. Had to push and hold the power button to get it to turn off.

Now a few hours later I plug it back in and fire it up, works fine starts charging the battery. But now the famous battery light never turns off symptom has appeared. Battery calibration doesn't worked becasue the BIOS can't even tell what charge the battery is. So i'm going to drain the battery completely and charge it right back up and "hope' that fixes the problem, if not well then I'll just be slightly pissed off.

This problem (not the blue screen part) happened to a brand new V6V i bought for a friend, and the problem progressed to the point where the machine wouldn't even turn on, I hope this problem doesn't get to that point.

Anyhow just had to vent thanks for reading.

Phew. After reading the title of the thread I thought the computer was dead, but it seems it's actually working, right? That's good.

I'm not familiar with the "battery doesn't stop charging" problem.

Did the discharge/recharge fix the problem?

No it works "fine" except the battery guage is fried, NHC says the battery is "fully charged" @ 89% battery wear is @ 21%

The other laptop I talked about in my post started the same way eventually not even turning on.

I tried the battery calibration, but it won't even work becasue the internal guage is messed up and it just starts to discharge and then turns off completely. No big deal the laptop still functions, and on the battery but i'm sure the battery will eventually get worse.

No problems though, I love this laptop so i'll use it until it won't even turn on!
