So, I'm pretty much set on getting a G1s and I'm pretty much set on upgrading the ram to 3gb. But, I have a little bit more money to spend (I'm not paying for this, i get it for free as long as it's under $2300 w/ tax and shipping).

Is it worth it to upgrade the hard drive to a 160gb 7200, or should I add a year to the asus warranty, or should I buy a notebook cooler, or should I get something else that would count as hardware for the laptop (ie buying halo 2 or battlefield 2142 doesn't count...unless there's a site would ship it w/ the system and im still not sure it would fly)?

I'd suggest the 7200rpm HD, www.1toppc.com doesn't charge sales tax unless you live in California just so you know, and shipping is only 30$, the G1S is down to $1805 now.

BTW, I just ordered mine yesterday :-D

For $2300, I think you could get the 3gb RAM, AND a 160gb 7200RPM HDD AND have enough for a cooler.

Well, yea but I don't want to spend money if I don't have to. Is a cooler really necessary, seems like a pain for me to bring to a college dorm.

The G1s does get a bit hot on the bottom, especially during gaming, so I would suggest one.
