I was wondering if anyone knew how to turn off or change the function of either the quicklaunch buttons at the top or the Audio DJ buttons on the side? Any suggestions would be great.

If you stop the HControl.EXE process then all of the buttons will be disabled.

If you want to change what the buttons do, you'll need to figure out the code inside the Hcontrol program; it talks to the ATKACPI device driver and there are several commands it receives from the driver to tell it that buttons have been pushed. It then kicks off the appropriate program to take action.

There seem to be more functions inside HControl than we have buttons for, I found the string "notepad.exe" inside there and I'm sure we don't have a button to quicklaunch notepad. Dunno, haven't got the time to look any further.

I'm looking at the Asus USA site and the M6 page.

    Here's the link:
    http://usa.asus.com/products/notebook/m6series/m6000n/m6000n_overview.htm

If you use the "explore" thingy and look at the left side of the machine, all the way towards the front, there is a switch that is labeled "Audio DJ Power Switch". Does this turn off those pesky buttons???

Someone with one of these machines please check and let us know!!
