Can this be done with Scotch tape? May anyone explain in detail how to do it? I see pictures around but don't understand what is happening

Most keyboards sit atop an aluminum or sheet metal frame. They are only held in by clips at the ends. In the middle, the keyboard sits a bit above the surface of the underframe. When you hit the key it moves further than its normal travel until it bottoms out on the subframe. If you touchtype, this can actually create a very annoying pogo effect that can really throw off a touch typest. The double sided tape holds keyboard on the subframe and prevents the keyboard from springing back into a position that has a gap from the subframe and eliminates that extra travel. I am typing right now on a keyboard that is taped to the subframe of my Acer 1410T.
The best tape for this is either scotch double sided tape or poster tape. Do not use mounting tape, it is too thick and can actually make the problem worse.
