    Hello,
I posted a message on these forums a few days ago about upgrading my ram. However since then, I'm really not sure what ram I have installed and what I need to upgrade. :( Heres a dump from CPU-Z. My notebook is M6763V-LP with 512mb DDR2 ram, just don't know if its 400mhz or 533. Any help would be appreciated.

most likely its ddr2 533. it would also work with ddr2 400 it will just go as slow as the slower ram.

New laptop can support ddr2 533 almost on the market in 2005, if your laptop's model came out in 2005, i believe it should be ddr2 533, otherwise, it only support ddr333 or ddr400 in 1 year ago.

CPU-Z isn't terribly helpful for determining your RAM speed. Everest or Sandra should tell you, though. Either DDR2 at 400 Mhz or DDR2 at 533 Mhz will work with your machine. Better yet, just look on the RAM module you've got. It should say on there. If it's PC2-3200, then it's running at 400 Mhz, but if it's PC2-4200, it's running at 533 Mhz.

Thank you for the replies, I bought it a few months ago. The 512mb ram just doesn't do it justice. Seems like every year I need more and more ram. I think I'll be safe with the PC4200 from Crucial. :)
