It is embedded down under the keys. Compressed air won't get it out. Are the keys easy to take on and off? Or do the latches break easy? Any other suggestions?

The individual keys are hard to take out without breaking them. If you can see the dog hairs, try using a pair of tweezers to take them out. If that doesn't work, you can always order a new keyboard from Asus and replace it.

It should be around $20 for a keyboard. Call the Asus estore to check for availability.

i never took the chiclet off but i doubt the design changed much so they should just pop off by pulling hard and fast. i have broken permanently a few keys doing that so be careful

So, I bought my computer through Best Buy. When it arrived, the right mouse clicker wasn't flush. At all. I thought I could get used to it. Over the last month, it has gottten worse. Think Asus would be able to fix that under their warranty?

Try using a vacuum or static electricity?

I don't think so but I'll do a test on my school issued EEE 1000HE which has chiclet keys that look very similar to your G72 and my soon to be G51.

Yes, at least that's how much Asus is charging for the G51's backlit keyboard.

Yes, this is clearly a hardware issue which your warranty should cover.

Did you try holding the laptop upside down so the keys face the floor and do a 360 degree blow through with the compressed air? You may need to circle the key several times too..........
