The ASUS official site redirects to the commercial Driver Navigator. The latter is indeed very good, but it costs minimum $29 for a year. Are those old good times, when manufacturers provided drivers for their products free, gone ?![]()

Go to http://support.asus.com, then search for your system's model number.

You must have been in a scam site. Asus drivers and anyone else's are always free.

Thanks, guys ! I indeed got to a scam site and it costed me 29 bucks ( Download Asus Drivers and Updates - (Recommended) Asus Drivers. Asus Drivers for XP, Vista & 7!). At least it worked well and my notebook is perfectly fine now. It is funny that their address in Google starts with asus.com. Therefore I did not suspect anything.

I've been there, but for some reason I could not find Win 7 drivers for my model. Only Win 8 and 8.1.

just a tip for the future, no manufacturer charges money for drivers. That is 100% scam and even if I did end up buying the drivers accidentally, do you think you can trust them and install their drivers? who knows what spyware they've bundled in the drivers to track you or harm you. Always install drivers from the manufacturer download links directlymargol1 likes this. -
In general, you're absolutely right. But in this specific case, the drivers were downloaded from the official ASUS site. The scam played a role as a "go-between" only. In fact, this "Driver Navigator" is quite known and reputable software, but the way they are marketing it is disgusting, imho.

It's not from ASUS for sure.
Any URL can contain the word ASUS but that does not mean it's official.
You can provide the URL from your history and show it to everyone. -

But it saaaysss it's official!
Were you redirected from the Asus support page? (Or you can link us to where you were obtaining the drivers as Kevin suggested.)
