    Dear all,

I'm abroad and have some troubles with my laptop. I have the recovery DVD but not the drivers CD which seams to be required to recover my system.
I looked for it on Internet, but just found a list of drivers provided by Asus website. This does'nt fit my needs and I need your help. Could I get the drivers pack CD any where?
Thank you in advance for your help.

    Ammay

    Hi,

    Two options:

    a) If you have the original HDD and you did not alter the partition setup, you should still have the recovery partition. Press F9 at ASUS splashscreen. Recovery should start, and it should have all the drivers -- no need for the CD.

    b) Download all the drivers. Recover from DVD. Then when you are asked for the drivers CD, force a reboot instead. You should now have a clean install. Install drivers manually.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your help.
I think I have another problem. Couldn't boot from the option b) solution because I have a courrupted GRUB boot (my problem originated from trying to install Linux in dual boot with vista.
I will reinstall Linux or GRUB to check.

    Thanks

    Ammay

You probably mean option a). Option b) does not depend on the bootloader of the HDD, option b) is the DVD recovery.
