A couple of weeks ago, I updated my BIOS with the latest version from Asus. I was honestly much happier with the fan performance with the old Bios. I have the old BIOS file, but the WinFlash utility won't let me change the BIOS back to the old version because it says that it is an older version (obviously). Any suggestions on how I can get around this and reinstall the older BIOS? Thanks!

There is a guide for how to do that in a previous post...a quick search should find it.
Essestially you will need to make a boot CD with the dos flash program and the bios you want to change to.
I will leave the details to that previous guide as it was v.well written even I managed to follow and successfully down grade my bios.

Here we go... something I'm familiar with.
This is the thread Underpantman is talking about:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=10251&page=5&pp=10

This is the quote from funnyc:
    1. Download the Dos flash utility AFLASH2_Dos_050127.zip from here: http://usa.asus.com/support/download/item.aspx?ModelName=M6N&Type=Latest

    2. Download the 0206ae bios from here: ftp://ftp.asuscom.de/pub/NOTEBOOK/M6x00NE/

    3. Create a Clean Bootable CD-Rom (for BIOS upgrade) as per the instructions on here: http://www.nu2.nu/bootcd/#clean
Remember to copy the flash and bios to the correct directory!

    4. Boot from CD and run the flash program

    5. Done.

Feel free to ask any questions if you're still unsure. Keep in mind that you don't have to use that specific BIOS version...

Ok, I went through the whole procedure to create the clean bootable CD ROM and I'm still stuck. When I boot up from the CD, the DOS screen comes up and just says FAT KERNEL GO! Then it just sits there and does nothing. Any idea what's going on?
