    Hi guys.

Last week I bougt Asus G50vt-x5. It works great, except my optical drive started to make some skraching noise when it loads cd or just operates.
    Anyone had same experience?

Ok lets go back to the topic of the post...

I wanted to modify my laptop, but I will need some help/guide on how to do it.

What are your suggestions on what can i modify ( overclock, undervolt, flash, etc.) ?
I would appriciate if u give me link of guides for Asus G50vt x5 modifying.

Atm everything is stock and its running on Vista Home Premium 64.

    Tnx everyone for help!!!

Make sure nothing is pushing up on the cd rom drive I only have this issue if im carrying it with my hand pushing the door up and the cdrom drive is spinning.

Overclocking can be done in general visa the asus direct console. Depending on the exact quality of the ram chips most people can get 2.4 to 2.45 Ghz using SetFSB PLL is ICS9LPR604AGLF and the fsb values are wrong 200 is 266 and the slider value for that is about 397. Slider value for my overclock of 2.45 On the processor it came with was 500 for 306mhz fsb and 2.45Ghz cpu speed.

Undervolt stock cpu has a solid 8x multiplier RMclock is fine u just need to grab the signed 64 bit RTcore64.sys file its on their forums. CPU Genie works very nicely and is easier to use but isnt free. I was able to undervolt my P7450 to .900 volts (the minimum) at all multipliers and even at my max overclock. Mileage will vary from cpu to cpu.

Anything else you wish to know?

As far as more info, consult the undervolting guide for rmclock (search) and using asus direct console is common sense push the rog logo button on your laptop.

    kinda offtopic question but...

I was looking for a backpack. I need room for laptop, zlaman nc 2000, mouse, mouse pad, and headphone. probably a little bit more, but those are essentials :D

I had my eye on this backpack for a long time: SLAPPA Velocity SPYDER PRO
    17" version

    specs:
    Outer Bag Dimensions 15"(w) x 22"(h)
    Laptop Compartment Dimensions 14"(w) x 16"(h) x 2.5"(d)
    Main Compartment Dimensions 14"(w) x 20"(h) x 5"(d)
    Weight (empty) 4.5 lbs

    Link: http://www.slappa.com/velocity-spyder-laptop-backpack-graphite?sc=2&category=133

Do you think everything will fit? Does anyeone posses one of these? If yes, are they good as ppl say?

    tnx for replays!

It will fit in the bag with room to spaire i believe the laptop dimensions where 15x11 but i dont remember its in my zalman review. The cooler at is thickest is no thicker then the laptop the width and depth are only very slightly larger.
