This makes about as much sense as the Eee model naming conventions. -
You pronounce it Asses.
Yep. -
here in brasil everyone pronouces it AH-zus.
But yeah, I'll go with Asses. -
In Canada we say Eh...
sus. -
In case you are wondering, the chinese name of Asus sounds a little bit similar to "Wa Shek".I personally pronounce it as "a$$-es"
BTW,how to you pronounce "Phenom"? -
Use to say "a-zus" now I say "a-zeus"
@goha01 - "fee-nom" at least that's how I pronounce it.. -
I always read it and pronounced it the same as the CEO. Ah-soos.
-
Pagasus.
That's where they say they got the name.
Peg-ah-sus.
Assis is how most people would pronounce it. =s -
niffcreature ex computer dyke
I've always pronounced it that way ^
From the day I first heard about the brand. It seems like that would be obvious to me
What does an asian lady know about pronunciation of somewhat english words anyway...
come to think of it...
You are all just subject to a marketing gimmick that makes other people hear their name when everyone is arguing about it -
this video was made by the ceo to stop confusing people...so i guess she knows more that you think
-
I pronounce it "Ace-Us" and nothing will change that. Its practically the coolest way to say it
-
Hey Zeus what's up!?
-
-
I always thought it was pronounced as "Jesus" without the "J" sound... hmmm
-
-
if asus is aSOOS
then pegasus is pegaSOOS -
ACE-us, emphasis on first syllable.
That's pretty close to the way the woman in the OP video says it.
The real question is why would anyone take the 2nd half of the name of a mythical winged-horse (Pegasus) and use that for the name of a computer company. Seems kind of nuts to me. Why not just call the company Pegasus or Unicorn or Cyclops. Nobody holds the copyright on names of mythical creatures. -
I say "As" "us".

Eh-SUS sounds like an acented asian person saying Ace Us which as you see in my title that i made after that -es video came out is how i say it lol.
-
The name comes from the word
PEGASUS
so the pronunciation would
ahhhh suss
Thats it.
These chinese cannot just alter the pronunciation of their made up words. There are rules.
Can I change the pronunciation of my name if im tired of it?
No. I can change my name but the letters come in an order and they are pronounced how they are spelled.
You have to change the word to change the pronunciation. -
ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
The origin of the company name is as Stamar has noted. It was, and always has been, pronounced by Asus corporate - which is the definitive way, no matter what anyone else in the world wants to do with it - as .....
ah - SEUSS.
There is no point to this thread, really. Funny how this topic shows up every 6-9 months or so, however. Other deriding commentary here about how Asian people speak the English language is discriminatory, and sad. -
YouTube - ASUS Commercial
Video there's funny and have seen it before...
Panther214 -
I pronounce it Ay-Sus
-
Look at my profile picture.
<===
