    Hi guys,

I had applied a noDPTF registry fix sometime ago, but now I wish to reinstall DPTF as I want to send my laptop for repairs, but with the fix applied it is not installing. The issue is mainly overheating, but with the fix on, PL1 defaults to 45W and doesn't increase dynamically to 70W when GPU is not lit up without running Throttlestop/XTU. So when DPTF is on, it does it automatically so that the CPU can go to that wattage and overheating can be brought to light to the OEM. So please guide me as to how I can enable DPTF again and remove the fix from the registry. Thanks.

    Did you use this:
    https://github.com/Brad331/NoDPTF/blob/master/NoDPTF.reg

If so, try going to those registers on regedit and change the keys at
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\DeviceInstall\Restrictions

    DenyDeviceIDs set it to 0
    DenyDeviceIDsRetroactive set it to 0

You should always backup your registry when applying mods, more so if you downloaded and ran a .reg file from the internet without even checking what it was changing/adding/deleting.
