hey guys, how am I suppose to recover a asus laptop for a fresh install without a dvd drive??
I live in canada and the only asus laptop that's in my range of budget is this one

but it does not have a dvd drive.. haha so just a question before I consider buying it.
How long do you think this laptop will REALLY last for the battery life?

They usually come with a recovery partition and you get an option upon boot to press a function key in order to access it and restore your system.

As for a fresh install, a USB key is your best friend.

BTW that link of yours asks for a Canadian Postal Code. Why not state the laptop's model instead.

    No worries ;)
By the way, welcome to NBR.

Ok, that makes it easy. It will come with a recovery partition and i recommend not to delete it unless you know what you're doing and create recovery DVDs before/if you want to fresh install Windows or try another OS.

Read here, there's lots of info on how to recover your U31SD:

also if you want a fresh install just download the win 7 usb tool. Point that program to the image of the windows disc and it will create a bootable usb drive automatically
