    How to reduce the weight of my Asus U6E ?

    Hi there

    Is there any way to reduce the weight of my Asus U6E further ??

    Please advise.

    There's not much you can do to the reduce weight of any notebook.

    The things that come to mind is replace your hard drive with a SSD drive (SSDs tend to be a bit lighter) and to use the 3-cell battery instead of the 6-cell.

    take out the battery while plugged into the outlet. that's what I do :D

    You can also remove the CD/DVD drive. I haven't used mine at all for the last 6 months...

    Drill holes into the casing?

    ramgen: Do you use anything to cover the CD drive slot once you take it out?

    Well, I have never taken out my CD drive. :) But if you do, you don't have to cover it. Just leave it open...
