A while after I got my F5VL I figured out how to remove the Asus brand name logo which is displayed on the screen during the boot process. This made it default to the AMI bios screen which is what I wanted to see. However I recently had a power failure when the computer was on and now the Asus boot screen has returned. I'm not sure why this happened but the problem is I forgot what I did to remove it the first time. I can't find any settings in the bios which will do it. I'd appreciate a refresher on this subject.

    Thanks

There should be an option in the BIOS menu, something like "Disable Boot logo" or "Disable quiet boot". Try that one.

    Press F2 to enter BIOS

    Go to Boot
    Go to Boot Settings Configuration
Only option is Quiet Boot, press enter to pick from Enabled to Disabled

Press F10 to save configuration and exit.

If you wish to disable the sound as well, you can find it under

    Advanced, Play POST Sound.

    hope this helps.

The Quiet Boot option in the Bios did the trick. That's really not a good name for it. Who would think that Quiet Boot had anything to do with removing the Asus logo during the boot process. It's not even the right place in the Bios to remove the audio that goes with the Asus logo, although the name Quiet Boot implies that it should be.
Now that I've got the AMI Bios screen working again is there anyway to slow down the scrolling speed? I can stop it with the pause key but only to a certain point. Beyond that point I can't pause it again. It continues to scroll until it's finished and then the Windows loading screen starts.

    Thanks
