    Hey,

I'm new here and recently bought a z70V barebones and in the process of putting in all the parts. I've been downloading videos and reading assembly manuals, and trying things out, but there's one thing that I'm not able to do. I'm trying to get to the miniPCI WLAN slot, and I've got the keyboard removed and the 2 screws that keep the front LED power/panel down are also gone, but I can't seem to remove that panel. There doesn't seem to be enough give and the pictures in the assembly manuals aren't very clear about what I should do. Any hints?

    Thanks,

    Sys

    The rubber-ish panel?

That was a very hard part to take out. I was so scared I was going to break it!

Ok, heres the thing, for that rubber part, there are TWO 'clamps' on the left and right panel(Above the 'gap' in the middle of the laptop. ABout where 'tab' is located) You have to carefully lift and unsnap it(I just pulled it out firmly - I almost had a heart attack because I thought it broke)

    After that, it's easy :)

you have to take out 2 screws on the bottom first, then unlock 3 clamps which are located on the top of keyboard(left, middle and right), the take out the 2 screws and front cover. You can find out a black color cover on the left side and 2 wires(white and color), after taking out it, a wireless mini pci card is located there. Don't forget to connect the wire, black one for main, white one for auxiliary.
