I just decided to post this because I recently noticed how good the RealTek HD Audio on board really is, it has some really great EQ settings and stuff and some very good options.'

What do you guys think of the sound on S96J/Z96J's?

I agree. It sounds great...on headphones that is. The built in speakers leave a lot to be desired. Playing music, watching DVDs, and gaming with headphones is definately a treat though. The output on headphone jack is very loud as well. The output on headphone jack is better than any other notebook I have owned.

Yes the sound card is good, the trebel is nice, but I also found the sound to be a little low. However with a good pair of headphones I was able to get comparable sounds as to my desktop when using headphones.

For some they may want more sound quality and performance, hence they will buy a sound blaster card for it and connect the speakers and headphones through that.
