This computer has been giving me problems for a while now, but now it's been very common unlike before when it was once ever couple weeks.

I have and asus g1, bought it in January, it has a lot of problems when dealing with Stand By. A lot of time when i click stand by, nothing happens, it just sits there doing nothing, then finally tired I try to shut down the pc on which it hangs at the login screen causing me to do a hard reset. This only happens when the computer fails to go into stand by. Then the times it does go it to stand by is a whole another issue.

When it comes out of standby, either the wireless card become unresponsive, or it's present but refused to connect to a network or the sound card disappears and I can't play any music, or the worst of the the keyboard just becomes unresponsive, (I've only tested the letters and the arrow keys), which leaves me with no choice but to restart, where everything starts working again.

I love this pc to death, but stand by is a very important feature to me since I don't have to shut down my pc while moving classes. I've owned laptops before but have never encountered so many issues as I have with the ASUS laptop. I'm so so frustrated, and I don't want to reformat my pc.

Someone please help me:confused  :(

I've just been fixing a firends PC with media center.... man took me a while to find the updates etc that i needed and still the system is not stable at all! I'd stick to plain Xp pro.

did the notebook come with media center installer?

and what other software do you have on there which uses power management?
