Asus' gaming notebooks are the G1 (15") and G2 (17"). Otherwise, you can look at the GPUs on the F8, new M51 and other models - you'd want at least the 8600mGT as a gaming card.

Well if you can wait to buy the laptop it would deifnitely benefit u. The 9600m may release in time for fall semester which is when I start college as well. I'm hopin it shows up by then

But, as always, the advice "if you need it now, buy it now" stands. New and better technology is ALWAYS just around the corner.

I totally agree with EBE. If my old lappy did not die, I would've waited till fall for a new one, or even wait till graduation.

If you were to need a new notebook now, however, and portability was an issue, the F8SV A1/B1 would make a great gaming laptop for you. I can't say anything about the g1 or g2, since I don't own any of them.

    Cheers!
