I was wondering if the warrenty is tranferable on the g1

I got mine from new egg, and after trying it out for new days as a desktop replacement, I think I want a 17" laptop.

If I sold it to someone, does the 2 year warrenty stay valid ?

Just wanted to know , so I can give correct answers.

    thx

Technically yes and no..... The warranty that gets registered gets registered with the invoice from the purchase (which would have your name on it).... However, if you didn't physically register it in your name yet online, then there should not be a problem. The only times I've seen any issue is when someone wants to sell it after a year or so over registering it themselves.... Even then, Asus only asks to be notified so that they can change their records. Otherwise, and this has happened in the past, if they get a notebook that is registered to someone else and it's coming from and getting sent back to someone else at some other address, they call up the original owner thinking it may have been stolen....

If you have any problems, contact Asus, but I don't think you will. If you need any further help, feel free to contact me.

:( Why don't u like it? Plz tell me, cuz I'm gettin' one. Or is it nice, but u just want a 17" .

    If you're looking for a 17" notebook, don't buy ASUS G2. Go for a Sager 17" with 7950GTX.

mao: you nailed it on the head.

I currently own a msi 1029 w x700, the G1 is quality laptop, but wasn't enough of a jump for me.

So I am getting the clevo/sager 17" with 7950 gtx.

I think G1 is fine laptop, i was afriad it was going to be too flashy, but its quite pleasant to look at.

Ill put it up here for exactly what i paid for it, if local sell falls through.

    thx guys

Maybe a review first, ptrout? :D It would be appreciated if you made us a review, even though you won't keep it. Or at least some pictures?

If someone gets a 15.4" and wants a 17" -- it doesn't mean anything is wrong with it, it just means they didn't consider screen size as a factor when deciding what they wanted in the first place. It happens from time to time.
