Since its brand new out of the box, you can try restoring from the recovery DVD and choose the one hard-drive partition method.

Delete D from the comp, then expand C using vista built in program.

So you need to join the two partitions? Since Windows cant join the root partition with another partition (yet it can split them up) you will need to either find a program that can do it or, if you happen to have a linux install CD, you can run the install process and go into the partiton manager and join the two partitions.

    Wait wait wait.

Why do you want to kill the data partition? It is very bad practice to keep the data on the same partition as the OS. If the OS screws up (which Windows OSes are into the habit of doing from time to time) you'll have all kinds of headaches with backups etc. Or maybe it just screws up so badly it kills your data in the process.

I strongly recommend keeping a separate data partition. If any, I recommend making the C: partition smaller such that Windows + typical apps + some spare room is accomodated, and allocating the rest to D:.

Ok, I was just want to delete the data drive because I need have more room to install more games since data drive took about 67GB out of 160GB from my laptop and OS is smaller, not enough room to keep many games.

I will replace the hard drive in bigger capacity in later to re-create the data drive or I can use external hard drive via USB or eSata if needed to back up.

I have iMac with Mac OS X and use vista via boot camp and haven't create the data drive on my iMac, plus Mac OS X don't use data drive as well.

I still HIGHLY recommend using partitions.
You can always install games on your data drive - you don't have to install games in the default c:\program files\ directory. I have the stock 160GB and I actually have 3 partitions. C drive is for OS and essential apps, D drive for downloads, and E drive for data and game installs. If I mess up my OS I just re-image the C drive. I'll still have my data and while the games installed on E may be messed up, I'll still have the savegames for those games that hold them in the game directory.

I made biggest mistake to delete the D: Data and Vista on my laptop is biggest screw up after accidently to remove the some bloatware then my laptop won't start without battery is attract in, won't boot up with power cord only, I had learned my lesson to not delete D: data and any drivers, some of them can be bloatware and made delete so accidently.

I have to recovery it, that's not enjoy.

Thanks to you and EBE about warn me on D: Data from ASUS laptop.

Removing partitions shouldn't kill a laptop if done properly. Please give details on the other thread, and we'll see if we can solve the issue.
