After I saw a lot of website about ASUS laptop reseller, and I found a lot of reseller from Canada. Is the ASUS laptop more popular in Canada than US? Or, I am wrong?
BTW, the most popular laptop brand in Taiwan is ASUS(of curse  ), and the second is Acer, but when it comes to US, somehow Acer is way popular than ASUS, even my classmate ask me "ASUS? What brand is that?" or "ASUS laptop? I thought they only making MOTHERBROAD." It is kind of sad... :(

Well, Hard to say, both Canada and US are big markets(Somewhat...) for ASUS. It just seems that ASUS markets in Canada better, as I can easily hop to a local store and see ASUS laptops(Office Depot, The Source, among others), and the other day, in a large mall, I saw huge ASUS MOBILE banners towering down from the ceiling.

ASUS is a large Taiwanese company, though I'm not sure if Acer is also, or if they are Chinese. I know BenQ used to be a part of Acer, before it broke off. Or something along those political lines.

ASUS was always in the notebook business, aka. Asustek, but only as an ODM(Original Design Manufacturer) making notebooks for Apple, SONY, among other brands. Only recently, in the past half decade, have they started to market their own notebooks and sell their barebones.

American's are cheap..... and into brand names.... Acer really isn't a top level brand in the country, but they're name has been here 15-20 years (mostly known for junky desktops and laptops that fell apart... but it was still "known")... That Japanese, Taiwanese, German's and Italian's can all appreciate quality and design... and will pay for it..... People in the US will too, just not on the level they will. American's have been brainwashed and they weren't all that bright to begin with..... they buy what they see on tv.

    A little offtopic...

I tried to get an internship with ASUS, as I'd really like to work on a project, which gives the opportunity to increase Asus's market share in the US.

As I haven't heard anythin yet, I'll most probably (with my new ASUS notebook :D ) to the competition: IBM, which replied right after I sent my resume.

That's not really good, I really think ASUS should work harder on International marking on laptops. Go ASUS!!! :asus:
