    I have higher version driver then what is offered on ATI website?!

    When looking under System Information it shows that my display driver version is 6.14 10.6606

    Now when I go into Display Properties and check the version it says 8.242.0.0

    The ATI website says the newest driver is version 6.10 Posted October 31,

    What driver do I have and is it the latest? My notebook arrived November 10

    Also how do I see if I have grainyness, my screen is bright most of the time, haven't watched a DVD yet.

    That may just be Asus' display driver revision number that's showing. Each manufacturer is responsible for providing their own version of the ATI display drivers tailored for their notebooks and ATI itself does not provide Mobility Radeon driver updates for OEMs from it's website. When I look on Asus' support web site it shows the latest driver for your model as being 8.233.0.0, so it is probably just Asus' numbering scheme.
