    Hey everyone,

    I finally got my Dell Returned!! They had this problem the pissed me off, grainy screen. I was planning to get an G1S-A1 from ASUS, does anyone have grainy or any other problems that I should know?

    I believe the main issues with the G1 have to do with heat/fan related stuff... not sure if they've been resolved. Overall though, the G1 is study (and pretty flashy) machine. I'm sure you'll be super happy with it.

    Hmm, I have read some problems with grainy screens for this product in this forum. What's the status on that?

    Uninstall ASUS Splendid and update the bios to the latest version. I think bios 205 is the latest. That resolves the grainy issue.

    Wait, Grainy is a problem with the LCD. How can uninstalling fix it? Are we talking about something different here? Grainy is caused by the glossy coating. They either did it badly or low quality gloss.

    Not always coating. There are "software" types of graininess that are fixed with BIOS/driver updates. I think there was one with the ATI X1600 a while ago, for instance.
