btw my experience with Asus products usually leads to something not working right out of the box. For example the wireless card not performing well. Or way to much Asus installed software. These are a few tutorials on how to get a clean install floating around here.

Here's a post that may help you out with drivers

Yea i wanted to buy the V2S but no money the V2JE cost me after taxes in CAN was like almost 2 k... buts its a good laptop there are heat spots which have been mentioned in the reviews. So far what i have done with this laptop

i have undervolted the CPU 1-11 mulitplyers run at .95 volts and the 12th multplyer runs at 1.25... i tried to change it to 1.06 but NHC said there were 2 12 multpliyers.. so that was freaky but the notebook is a stable 56 degrees really nice

i OCed my ati video card i havent tested the actual game play but its at 520/ 440 verry happy about that

I noticed that after i undervolted it dynamic switching lags the PC ... this could be vista itself not sure yet any ideas

    Thanks once agian =D

Congratulations on you new laptop! I myself have an V2je too. It has been a great laptop so far, except I feel that it is a little bit hotter than my old one.
I bought it in April for a full retail price. How much did you get it? I am just curious how the price of this laptop has dropped.

The V2S is coming soon... this laptop is gonna be outdated... :(

i got this laptop for 2K CAN after taxes and everything the laptop itself dosnt run that hot anymore after undervolted
it runs a stable 52 degrees when i use the battery saving mode or in high gaming profile *with overclocked ait GPU and Memory* it hits an average of 62 degrees

these temperatures seem lower and very cool for a laptop this powerfull and my battery life for my 6 cell goes to 2 hours on battery saving mode =)

:( my laptop is stable at 62-66 degrees at only normal use: surfing web with firefox, chatting, music... The lowest temperature is 58. It has never reached 52. I even feel warm at the palm rest when typing. Is it too hot?

How can you 'undervolt' your laptop?

o there is a thread inthis form about undervolting your CPU

basicaly undervolting just lowers each CPUs multipliers voltage so that it wont proudce that much heat but can still operate normaly.
    my laptop stays stable at

51-57 normal degrees just casual stuff internet chatting music

and when i OC the GPU and run it with a game it gets up to 62-65 depending on what OC gaming profile i use
edit * when i leave this laptop for standbut the laptop idle temperature is 35 degrees... that is amasing..
