EDIT: I just RMA'ed my N51vn-a1 because the GT 240m was acting like it was dying but now im not sure if its actually good because even though msi afterburner ran well, OCCT came up with 22,XXX errors in 10 passes of the GPU memory test.

Im about to try NBA 2k12 and see if it runs well.

    ORGINAL POSTING:

    ASUS IS AWESOME

My N51VN-A1 had a gpu problem so I RMA'ed it hassle free, now I just got email that said that they replaced the motherboard and keyboard (which i broke while cleaning) and it scheduled to get back exactly 2 weeks after I sent it. This cost me a total of 9 dollars in packaging costs.

Now my notebook will last at least another two years of heavy gaming. Or I might just sell it, if I find a stupid enough buyer and get another Asus.

I will definitely be buying more from them.

But just to be sure i'm going to torture test it for 4 hours straight, playing NBA 2k12 with ought a cooler.

Lol, this is why I like buying new, not used, laptops.

If you spend some time researching the local market, used laptops can be bought with warranty and for 30-50% cheaper than equivalent or even identical new laptops. The only issue is you have to wait about 1-2 weeks for the right deal to come along.

lebob23, glad you had a great RMA experience. But your attitude is not warranted. That stupid buyer will get a great deal off you down the line, and will enjoy a nice laptop for a fraction of the original cost.

My laptop is flawless right now, it is in basically new condition since every electronic part except the screen and dvd drive has been replaced. It would be a good deal for me because then I can buy something like this Asus k53ta-bbr6 from best buy and get a sale like this guy except mine has a much faster processor and should sell for around $470 and break even
whereas if I sold it on craigslist I can get a little more and then afterwards have a brand new notebook with 40% better performance

actually I was mistaken, fedex dropped it off today and as of right now all I can say is that they somehow disabled most of the gpu when it tries to render dx10 and they applied some good thermal paste because they brought temps down 28 degrees for the gpu

and I ran msi afterburner for 10 minutes in opengl, dx9 and dx10 and no issues. How can I be sure my gpu is functioning perfectly?
