I popped the keyboard off to see if there was anything under it that needed cleaning (there wasn't), and my curiosity got the best of me, so I removed the two cables and took a peek under the plastic (nothing interesting). I got the whole thing back together, and the keyboard works fine, buy now my backlight isn't working. All the wires are connected properly. Any ideas?

You didn't break or rip (i assume flex cables) when you lifted it up?

What i'd suggest is relifting the keyboard, and check that you've reconnected everything properly, take a few minutes to analyse the flex/cable connectors, and see how everything is i guess.

Also you could try a bios reset (Battery out) power plug out, hold power button for 30 seconds to a minute.

THe cables weren't ripped or anything like that. They're not bent than they were before I pulled the keyboard off, either.

BIOS reset would be hard to do, since I'd have t pull the laptop apart more than usual and I don't have the tools to do that here.

I'll try again though, maybe holding the power button will work. Any other ideas?

How is taking out the battery and power plug harder than what you did with taking apart the keyboard?

If you had bothered to read his post you would have noticed that he was talking about the motherboard battery.

My keyboard was not lighting up today for some reason, it was nothing more than having to enable it again with the FN+F4 key on the G73. There is a button for the lights bu that button apparently is not for the keyboard lights.

Maybe you just have it turned off like I did and its not broken at all.

Ha ha, yeah I definitely checked that first.

Pulling batteries didn't work. All the connections are spot on.
