    Hi,

Thinking of buying an Asus L5GAP3-RW for a desktop replacement. http://france.asus.com/products/notebook/l5series/l5000ga/l5000ga_overview.htm

I saw this laptop yesterday and the shop makes a special rebate (i'm in France). I must say i was really stunned by the screen quality and in my opinion Ace View is one of the best technology beside Sony XBrite! I also consider a VAIO A117S but unfortunately it is 1000 Euro more expensive... However it is too large and I prefer a laptop with 3:4 screen and SXGA+ screen resolution.

So, I ask the following questions to L5GA users:

#1 - Are the fans of this laptop really noisy, and if yes how much?
#2 - What about the heat? (I wish to use the laptop on my lap or in bed sometimes)
#3 - What about the reliability of the screen? (Ace View version)? Do you have any dead pixels?

    Thanks for help
    Bye

#1 the fans on this laptop are anything but noisy. I feel on the side and the back just to see if they are working. I do use a laptop cooler though. I hear the fans from it

#2 Yes it gets very hot. But only when I am playing my games (Doom3, Farcry, BF 1942 DC mod, and UT 2004) other then that it is barable.

#3 I got no dead pixels on mine. [8D]
