    ***I need help with the Splendid Utility on G71 Windows 7 64bit***

    **SOLVED**I installed the Retail version of W7 64bit because I have yet to receive my free copy from Asus. I have installed all the W7 ATK drivers. Then I downloaded the ASUS Splendid Video Enhancement Technology for Win7 32/64 bit:Version V1.02.0028.

    When I try to install it I receive the error"this installation package could not be opened contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package". I have tried Winrar & 7-zip to extract the file.

    Asus technical support will NOT help me because I installed a legit retail W7. I've tried disabling UAC and disabling driver signing.

    I can get the Vista 64 bit version of the Splendid Utility to install and it appears to work from the programs and hotkeys but it does NOT change the screen settings :mad:

    This is really annoying. For some reason with the limited amount of features available in the hotkeys it is important to me to have them all work properly.
    Can someone please help?

    Splendid is useless, it applies different gamma, brightness, and contrast settings. Calibrate your screen properly.

    Yes I finally got it fixed. I tried everything. What fixed it was the Asus W7 utility disc. I also was having problems with Crysis audio clipping, but that to is also fixed. Yehaa!! lol

    Hey, exactly how did you fix the Splendid Utility problem and fix the audio stuttering in Crysis?

    I have the same two problems you had too!!!!!!! Only thing is, I don't have an Asus Windows 7 utility disk. What should I do? :(

    I tried everything. I could not get a lot of the W7 drivers to install on W7 HP. That disc installed everything flawlessly. I would call Asus up and get a W7 drivers disc. Why haven't you got your free copy yet?

    Like the Asus rep said, download the splendid utility from G51J D/L page. As for the sound get the Win 7 realtek HD drvs from realtek's site. After that you should be G2G.
