Hi,
I previously own a z70va. I know that it is made of carbon fiber which was very solid. Asus did an excellent job in building the structure of the notebook from the screen to the keyboard and the touch pad.
I know that the z96j is made of plastic, but is it well built like the z70va.
I hope who provide the information have own both of them. I am looking into buying z96j because it is a newer model and about the same price but for a better video card.
I am very concern about the structure because I am using my friend's sony vaio fe series and the thing is a piece of junk compared to the old sony. The keyboard is a made if flimsy plastic. The touch pad seem cheap also and it has a problem of going back a page on the internet when i try to scroll down the current page. The screen is pretty flimsy too. I hope you get the idea. I am sorry if i affend any sony lovers.
thanks,
loc

The answer is no, but it doesn't mean the Z96j is crap either. If you're coming from a Z70va, it means you have had it a year at most, so you really don't know how well that system holds up as it's really about 18 to 24 months before most computers just completely fall apart. Over the course of a year, I think you'll still notice a difference between the two, but it won't be that bad. After a year though, I wouldn't want to own it as I already know how those systems hold up as they used to be in the top end systems before they got into carbon fiber and other finer materials three-four years ago. In my opinion, given what I've seen..... if you're going to hang on to your Z70va and that'll still be used..... if the use you put on both machines is about the same, I bet the Z70va till be in better condition next year than the Z96j will be after it's first...
If you have certain computing needs and a diffinate size and budget you're on, I may be able to help you find a more appropriate upgrade to what you're coming from.
I need info about z96j and z70va structure
