I am struggling to connect my laptop to my Samsung 32" LCD. My laptop picks up the Samsung screen. I select the Clone view. BUT my Samsung LCD HDMI1, HDMI2 and HDMI3 keeps GRAYED out and I cannot select it! I switched off both, turn on, but still my LCD does not pick up my laptop. Its a straight cable HDMI the gold plated one.

Please help I am frustrated,I thought this was supposed to be straight forward process! :(

Does your laptop change resolution when you say clone?

    Right click
    graphics options
    external monitor

Hi thanx for reply.. I just tried VGA cable... it picked up immediately! I selected PC and I changed the resolution, and "bam" it worked.

But what is weird, the HDMI should do the same. But the Samsung LCD does not pick it up. Only PC.

...ok now im trying to fix the sound...! Any ideas why HDMI not working but VGA do?

It's probably due to HDCP. I think you have to use digitally signed drivers to be able to use HDMI. Any modded driver makes the signature pop. You don't have HDCP on analog connection nor on DVI, so I guess you could try hdmi to DVI.

Weird, I have an ASUS laptop and a Samsung TV as well.

It picked it up right away on HDMI.

Did you try a different HDMI imput on the TV or a different HDMI cable?

Try installing a newer graphics driver from laptopvideo2go. It's most likely a software issue and a driver update should be able to solve it.

i can only talk about my experience with my hp laptop and 55inch dlp connected via hdmi
when i use single monitor(dlp) things work fine. but i cant connect using clone or dual monitors
i read this is due to hdcp protocols on a vista/hdmi/bluray setup

    hope that helps

This is controlled by the graphics card's drivers. Get the latest ones. ;)

OK, a very NOOOOB question.. had a desktop last time I checked. Which file exactly to download from laptopvideo2go?

I have tried all 3 HDMI ports. What is strange, my laptop picks up the Samsung, but the Samsung doesnt pick up my G50...

Il try some of the other suggestions too and will let you guys know what the outcome was. Thanx so far.

BTW if someone in UK wants to buy the same laptop as mine with a free 4GB pendrive, PM me and I will send you the name where I bought it :)

Once you are HDMI-plugged, you should be able to play with the settings in the (advanced) nvidia control panel. Just right click on the desktop.

Could you post a pic of the multi-display and HDTV settings of the nvidia control panel when the TV is plugged? I may be able to help you with that.
