    Hi all,

    been watching this forum for a while now, trying to find a suitable laptop for uni. First off wanted an Alienware m15x or sager np8660. Decided against the Alienware because of the price/reliability. The Asus should (hopefully) be cheaper than the Sager and has everything i need. I have one question for you all...

    when is it going to be released in the UK?! Im just hoping someone here has an answer to this question. All the info i can find just says September. I really need the laptop soon because of Uni.

    It just came out here in the states, so keep an eye out, but I haven't seen anything specific. If it's September tho you don't have a long time to wait!

    If you do end up going with the G50 do make sure to read all the threads about the small and annoying bugs. I've worked most of them out on my personal system but they are not insignificant.

    Also I'm running XP which bring even more headaches, I think things are better out of the box with vista. But I can't/won't run Vista for a number of reasons.

    thanks a lot for the quick response! Yea im aware of the bugs, just its a cheaper option than the Alienware/Sager. Although nothing is cheap in the uk, we get absolutely cheated when it comes to prices..

    Ill run Vista so that should reduce the bugs.

    It is out in Canada as well so I don't think you will have to wait a long time for it to arrive in the UK.

    They were talking about not releasing it until they got rid of their previous stock of 15.4 gaming laptops (no idea what its called) and that they had shipped a few thousand more in from America! :(

    Probably a badly sourced rumour though to be honest.

    It's been available here in Belgium & the Netherlands for some time now :)
    also seen it standing in a fnac shop here in antwerp and it already had a layer of dust on it :O

    what!! :eek:

    I always thought we got things at the same time as or even slightly before mainland Europe. Waited for this laptop is killing me. I just checked a number of online shops and it seems the date of arrival is between 22 and 27th September.

    Im off to Uni on the 27th so im probably going to have to get it sent to me. :( I want to play Crysis!!!
