For some reason my speakers are super duper quiet. I have a g50vt-a1 I just got yesterday. It's a totally clean install with RAID 0 and x64 Vista Ultimate. I've checked the Dolby settings, the Realtek settings, and the Windows settings. I also went into the BIOS and set the volume to 8. For some reason all applications are super quiet. When I click the Windows volume control it makes the noise and it's quiet. In the Dolby settings when I click on the test volume that's the only time it plays loud. What gives?

I was having a similar problem and found out I had to hit the FN key while hitting the volume key and it worked I also went to the Asus website and downloaded their latest graphics driver and that solved my issue of lagging..
    hope this helps you..

I'm not finding an audio driver on Asus' website for x64 Vista... I'll try the Video driver though. Tried uninstalling Dolby, still nothing. Tried the fn+volume up, maxed out already.

I literally can't even hear what they're saying on Alone in the Dark and everything is turned all the way up. Is that normal? There is minimal background noise, just a little music. Am I going to have to play in dead silence?

When booting go into the Bios, either f2 or f8 i cant remember. Then go to speaker volume and change it to 8. After that, the speakers should be much louder.

    Awesome + rep...

I had a similar problem in my F8Va and I was just thinking that it was due to the crappy speakers. Now the sound is much much better... (Originally the sound was set to 4 in the BIOS, now it is 8 [max])

    Thanks again...

No prob, I had the same issue and at first I was pretty bummed about the speakers. It makes a huge difference. I'm not sure why the ship them with it set so low?
