This should probably go in the "what laptop should I buy" forum.

I dont think it needs to. I've been posting enough around these 2 forums so people generally know what I want : 16 or lower inch, SC2 on ultra. :)

    Thanks guys

Heh, that would be dookie's eleventh recommendation FAQ, though the first few were a year ago.

The Asus G73 is the best notebook they have ever made that combines their engineering, great selection of mid-high end components, with a fantastic price. Getting any other Asus beside the UL series for mobility will be a mistake you will regret.

You say 16 inches is MAX but why not just go 1.3 inches more eh? Plus the smaller you go with decent specs, the hotter the notebook and the shorter its life span will be.

The G73JH is a little bulkier than most 17" laptops, though it's not as bad as the Alienwares.

Among the HD5870 17" laptops, Asus is the second thinnest. And even compared to the MSI, the first half of the G73 would be thinner. With lid closed, the very front is only .6" high.

True, but since the OP gave a requirement about diagonal length and not thickness, it's important to note that the Sager NP8760 has 1.59" less depth.

The top sub-17" gaming systems are the W860CU and the M15x. They are the only two that offer the ATI 5870 in that size (although with the M15x the card has to be bought third party).

G73JH is perfect for those who don't bother/care a little with weight and size.

So good that it makes this forum a bit monotonous :p
It's always either G73 thread or G51 thread. U30JC, UL80JT, is cramped all in 1 thread, and like 5% misc. non G-series thread.

I heard that the ASUS N82jv is coming out in May... Might not be appealing but good specs.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll try to refrain from posting useless crap anymore, lolz.

Alas, the G73 is not for me, cuz it's ginormous. I went to bestbuy already and its almost as big as my torso. Let's close this thread, cuz I dont think theres any Asus comps out that fit my needs + price range quite yet.

    Thanks again.
