The machine is great and really flys even before I added another 512 MB of RAM The is had no effect on the incorrec6 clock time.
Also there is no ASUS\probe to check settings such as processor speed temp etc - how to get tis set up please ?

Hm that's odd... it should be correct.
You could have a faulty CMOS battery... if so, you'll have to get it replaced (free of course, by Asus)

Usually... it lasts a lot longer than the life of the computer. From time to time, you can get a faulty battery just by chance... it's more common on desktop motherboards than notebook computers, but it's still possible.

    Hello,

I would really like to snatch up one of these units. Is W5F is quiet during operation? - I have a Sony VGN-T140p and it is nice and quiet - Does the unit get hot, warm or stay cool? How long is the battery life in real world operation?

I have tried to replace this old sony twice, but the other lappys fans were too LOUD and they ran hot! -Fujitsu and Dell- Any help would be awesome.

    Thanks a bunch,

    Anthony

Problem was my own fault - I simply forgot to click apply after changing time ! Just received the W5F last night and had been playing with it inthe early hours of AM - tiredness made slip up. Thanks anyway for suggestions I'm glad I don't need them.

Yes this is some notebook small light wt and great keyboard very IBM like with good feel to it. Screen bright and clear - very quite in running hardly hear the fan, So far I have not used it long enough to test out the battery but it showed over 4 hours when I started earlier - not much heat to feel - I put in an extra 512 MB and it certainly made it speed up.

I also looked at the IBM X60T but it was too heavy for me (previously had W3V but found it too heavy - not much difference in this and that so far)
