Hi Guys,
The default Asus factory settings have divided my 160 gb harddrive into two partitions;
c: 90 gb
d: 60 gb
i would actually want to reverse this and allocate 30 extra gb to the D drive. Is this possible through windows and without losing any data?
hepl much appreciated![]()

I don't think it's possible in Windows (Vista, XP). You can shrink one partition and create another after its new end, but you can't move the start of the partition (at least that's how I remember it).
You can use the BootItNextGeneration utility to do whatever you want with the partitions though. Check my XP guide on how to obtain the bootable ISO for bootitng.
I recommend resizing C: with Windows and then shifting the start of D: with BootitNG. Boot the ISO, do NOT install on the HDD, and choose Partition Work. Interface is selfexplanatory after that.
But first: BACKUP YOUR DATA. The probability of something going wrong is under 1% probably... but better safe than sorry. -
Gparted for the win. Although the last time I used it, the power cable came out and it crashed. My poor gaming parttion died
. but i did get a 10 fps boost in crysis somehow

Sure, Gparted is an option. Or qtparted. Use a live linux distro like Knoppix, Slax, or SystemRescueCD for that.
But I feel the BootItNG handles it better, I don't know why. Linux utils still have issues with NTFS partitions. I'd still recommend my original suggestion.
Increase D:\ partition for split harddrive?
