Aight, so I still haven't been able to decide on the laptop I want (groan). I just stumbled across another promising deal; can someone just compare these two and give me their feedback i.e. which one is better etc. I must admit though, that the 6GB of RAM in the G72 feels kind of ... unneeded?

    and

Edit: What the ... isn't the G72 screen 16" across? If it's 17", then I might as well go with the G51vx.

    Cheers,
    Patrick

I've been debating the exact same thing.

I believe I have made my mind up and will be picking up the G72 tomorrow from BB.

The fact that it has 2 more gb of ram that is upgradable to 12 gb (g51 supports 4 max according to newegg) Also, there is an extra hard drive bay so that can be upgraded in the future as well.

G72 ends up being a bit cheaper after tax of course.. I think it will be able to last a bit longer due to the upgrade options available to you. It is a 17.3 screen however... I do wish it was available in 16
