Hi! I've bought a brand new Asus B53J laptop and received it one week ago. I've started installing some work-related software such as MS Office, FTP client, etc., but didn't uninstall anything or modify the laptop's settings.
The laptop runs with Windows 7 64bit.
However, I've noticed I get an error message each time I open the Control Panel. It says "Resource file C_SpURsDll not found!". After doing some research, I've found that this is related to Infineon TPM. There were even some how-to related to this type of problem, telling how to correct a missing key in the registry.
My understanding is that TPM is looking for a language resource file DLL, other than English; there are DLLs named SpURs**.dll in the app's folder. Since my OS is in French Canadian, my hypothesis is that ASUS made an English-only configuration for TPM at the factory. The language DLLs are present but the language link is not present in the registry.
I've tried adding the key-value pair in the registry, without any success.
When I try to uninstall the TPM software, I get a similar error message (some missing language pack DLL), so I can't uninstall.
Tried to disable TPM in MSCONFIG (both as a service and in the boot sequence).
I've downloaded the TPM installation program from the ASUS support website, but I refuses to install, saying that it doesn't match my OS (which is weird considering that I've downloaded the Windows 7 64bit version of TPM).
I've written a tech inquiry e-mail to ASUS but still no answer after 48 hours. I don't want to wipe or reinstall Windows, I mean, this is a NEW computer and there ought to be a simple solution to this problem!
Thanks in advance for your suggestions or solutions.
