Where can you find info on what the update is for and what it does??

Since people here sometimes get very disappointed with updates I´d like to know where you can find info about it.

    Thanks!!

I think after numerous complains that foreign bios is not the same as American it think its fair to say wait for the American version on their download site here ---->http://www.asus.com/support/download/download.aspx

so if I have a european W3N I should download from the german site and not the taiwan site??

Because there is a new BIOS update on the taiwan site that doesn´t exist on the german site. I also recall another thread in this forum about a guy whos W3N screwed up when upgrading with that new BIOS. Or whas it because he was using linux, atleast it seemed like he did.

Generally, it's okay for you to update your BIOS on your W3N with a BIOS from say...the taiwan site. Technically, all of the ASUS's sites should have that same BIOS... I doubt that ASUS would release special BIOSses for models in different countries; it'd be impractical.
However, from time to time, the German ASUS ftp site has BIOSes that other ASUS sites do not release...
The choice is yours if you want to update your BIOS. If you're having some problems or are facing a bug of some sort, I say update; otherwise, I don't see a point in updating unless you're stubborn (like me) and always want to have that "updated/everything fresh" feeling [|)]

Please be reminded that some of the W3 models uses different motherboards [as you can see by the different chipsets]. So only use the one that's specifically made for the W3N and not for the W3A or W3V...

It's good to point out...but when using Winflash, I think it will not allow you to flash if you don't have the correct image anyway; it will also not let you flash an older BIOS image
