That's funny you should ask. I did some W5ae's up for Foose Design and personally did up this engraving which is also color matched to the silver metaltic trim of the pearl model. This was in the lid and designed to be classy and yet show off...... there's a lot of time involved it in though. If you're looking to just put your name in the bottom for ID purposes...... there are other ways to do that...

Well that particular design was sandblasted because I wanted a smooth bottom with angled walls.......

We've also done laser engraving - which is better for smaller, more precise cuts... the only problem is burning... and discoloring. On a white notebook like a pearl W5 ------ burning is hard to get around and repainting an entire section is not a great idea.

I would say the cheapest and easiest way for you to add you name and info to the bottom of the notebook would be to take off the magnesium hard drive cover and take that to someone at the mall who engraves zippo lighters or things things like that...... that way if you sell it you can just get a new cover, and if they screw up - you're just buying a new cover. If you place a warranty sticker on the hard drive screw.... I don't think anyone would really know to mess with it either...

Thanks - that was an M6ne that was in LAPTOP back in May of 04 and was also dropped on live tv on The Screen Savers on TechTV around the same time....

On a side note---- I have something like 30-40 M6ne and bne lids.... so regular ratio and widescreen versions with that engraving it in... if anyone happens to want one for their M6 or Z70..... We made up 150 of them back when that review aired and we put them on notebooks as we were building them for a couple months..... but right now they are basically just in storage and not really used for anything.....
